Merry Christmas to everyone!
Do you really have plum pudding??

The black and white photo of the trees and the snow is beautiful!

Today I was looking at some photos that my cousin brought to show us on her visit home. She recently moved to Seattle. She had taken photos of their recent snow storms and the after-effects of their recent wind storms. Such beautiful scenery and effects!

Hope you enjoyed a great Christmas with your family. (Do people in California burn wood in fireplaces??? I picture Californians outside on the beaches at Christmas!!)

Yes, we really do have plum pudding?? It is filled with coins (that the fairies leave) and we douse it with brandy and light it on fire while gathered around singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas". Can't remember a year we didn't have this tradition.
And yes...we do burn wood in our fireplaces...which I am going to light today, cause it is chilly outside....

Merry Christmas. What a lovely snow scene. Not in LA, but our friends used to live up near Lake Arrowhead above San Bernardino, and I recall it snowing like that! I'm not particularly fond of living in the snow, but visiting it. I am what the Arrowhead folks referred to as a 'flatlander'!

I caught a bit of SOM on TV the other day--where Fraulein Maria returns from the abbey and all you kids were there and Maria learns of the engagement to the baroness. What a great movie--one of my all-time favorites!

You mentioned in a post several weeks ago of your visit to the Old Farmers' Market on 3rd and Fairfax when your parents were visiting. I love that place. My grandparents used to live in the Los Angeles area, and I remember when I was six years old (1955) going there to visit with my mom and aunt. Five years ago, I went back there and had Italian food at the same spot there. The name of the booth had changed, but it was the same delicious food as I remember.

AC, may the rest of your holidays be enjoyable for you, your friends and family, and may 2007 bring you much joy.

I live in the SF Bay Area and we also have been using the fireplace. It's been overcast all day today.
(I'm still anonymous because I haven't registered yet, but hopefully will in the future).

Bye, ac,
Take care from a long-time fan.

My brother's wife is originally from England (like ac), so whenever I spend a Christmas with their family in Los Angeles it includes "Christmas Crackers". Growing up in the US, I was not familiar with them...now they are a family tradition! (I refused to wear the paper crown this year because mine was pink! lol. The jokes inside the crackers are rather silly, but we all laugh anyway.)

Happy Holidays!

Our family has the traditional christmas crackers. We enjoy doing that every year. I even wear the crown... Angela, do you like tea? My favorite is PG Tips. Yum! Simply the best English tea as far as I'm concerned.
