what? nail polish?

Playing around with transparent layers...with glazes and mediums... I tried nail polish... and voila...a different look and feeling to my art was born...not to mention another use for those bottles of nail polish you never use...

Nail Polish? Great idea!!. I loved the magazine article. The cover with the amputated arm creeped me out a little. Maybe you should have put some of your nail polish on it... maybe some sorta whimsical color nail polish, just to take the edge off of it......

What a great article. I have been using old nail polish on many things other than my nails for a very long time. The best application i found was to use it on jewelry when i was missing a stone or a pearl or something tiny that needed to be filled in. I used a wonderful marble type of white polish on some old (presumably costume ) pearls that were scratched and need a little resurfacing, on bracelets with tiny rubies missing- etc and even a gorgeous pair of earrings that needed a touch of purple because the enamel had come off. Just love when we use items "off label" for our art- much like MDs use drugs "off label" for non prescribed conditions!! :)

I never would have thought you get all those cool colors with nail polish! Angela rules!

I love these, they're so well done (as usual). Any chance that some of those that weren't used in the magazine article might be for sale on your Etsy site at some point?

I cannot say that I have any nail polish floating around...but I might need to get some after reading your article.

Loved your article! I've been using clear nail polish for a few years especially as a glue! I must confess I use your book-In This House-much more than I do nail polish! Love it! When you get a minute, have a look at what my students did with your inspiration!
