part 2...setting sail

We board the ship at Pier #6 and set sail...

We are at sea for three days on our way to Japan...it's always good to have a couple of days to get acclimated to the movement of the ship and find your sea legs. It may seem like a lot of days at sea but there is always something to do and hours pass quickly... Besides the spa, exercise facilities and always somewhere open to eat...(Here's some of the works of art from the world cruise baker on board).

There's the casino, the pool and various speakers in the Lounge on a wide variety of subjects...there are computer classes and other classes like napkin folding and origami...(Didn't you always want to learn how to fold a classy napkin?) There is live music and dancing...or...
...A special 'drink' to keep you company as you watch the sea...

There's conversations....

left to right: Jesse, Curt, James, Jack, Bill and Becca
...or playing cards with new friends you meet...SH Bummer was the game of choice...quite addicting I must say.

At night there is always a show to watch...or listening to David playing the classics at the piano...and before you know it...three days have past and we pulled into the port of Nagasaki in the morning...

part 1 another world...

I was elated when I received the call that Princess Cruises wanted me to be a guest lecturer again. Last year I had been on their Mediterranean World Cruise and it was fantastic...this year I would be joining the ship for the Asia leg. Starting point - Guam. The best part was my kids would join my husband and me for this adventure just like they had last year. How blessed was I.

Arriving in Guam...the water was so clear...the weather was so humid. We walked along the beach collecting shells and walked around until it was time to head to the hotel and get ready for the next day.
Heading back to the hotel I spotted this young couple that had just gotten married.
Note the black tights...never seen that at a wedding before. Little did I know just how popular black tights are in Asia...

The next morning we grabbed breakfast and headed for the ship to begin our adventure at sea.
