a little something...

We celebrated my daughter Becca's birthday a few days late as she was on vacation in Costa Rica for her actual birthday. I handmade and designed this little silver booklet for her and filled it with some good memories and wishes for the future.  I was pleased to find this antique cache box which that was the perfect size for her gift.
Hand molded and stamped 99% silver booklet, connected by linen thread, an antique chain, collaged pages and a Tibetan bell.

After popping on the restaurants' birthday sombrero, Becca is serenaded by all of us and another year begins...Happy Birthday Becca...

sytycd...

It was so cool to go to a live taping yesterday of my favorite show So You Think You Can Dance (also known as SYTYCD).  I mean have you seen the dancers this year? They're inhuman!  And they didn't disappoint when I went to watch the taping. Invited by Fred Bronson who wrote our book "The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook", I brought along my friend Debbie who is another fan of the show.  We had a blast.  Enjoying some vittles before the performance, catered by My World On A Plate, (some of the best backstage catered food ever.) that was only the beginning of a really good time.

After some amazing performances by the top 20, there was a Step Up Revolution performance. I gotta see this movie. I love Twitch...If you missed the show you can see more performances here...
Thanks Fred! a great day I'll not soon forget...

here i am gilding the lily...

Of all the years I have lived in California...I have never been to Fullerton. Yesterday...that changed. Those of you who have visited Fullerton will know of the charming and delightful houses and the old town feeling you get when you visit the heart of the city. It was here I wandered into 'Gilding The Lily' at 305 N. Harbor Blvd.Fullerton, CA 92832.  It's a celebration of times past with drawers of baubles and charms... walls of ribbons, chains, vintage hats and ephemera...a delight for the eyes... and a joy for the spirit...

I could not resist this chapeau, embellished with crisp black ribbon and miniature daisies... I miss hats... do you?

I sent Seth a sepia version of my bathroom for the Altered Page blog's "It's A Still Life" ... I must have been feeling very sepia that day...The above picture is more the actual color I painted the room... all seafoamy green blue with lavender streaks and chips... If you ever need to jump start your inspiration veins... just click around Seth's blog for awhile. Or buy his book...the Pulse of Mixed Media...
