slipping into fall....

With politics at the forefront right now I could not resist posting this pic from a special I did called "Children Are People" a few years ago. That's Jay North, Teddy Rooney and me acting very..."Yeah...women can run for office and hold their own in the political arena..." I didn't realize at the time of this photograph it would take decades before that would become a reality.
Lots going on at The Altered Page. Seth has been busy gathering all sorts of interesting tidbits from 80 artists. Fun reading...

I am so honored...THANK YOU>>>THANK YOU>>> for my Brillante Premio award....actually I have received two of these awards in the last couple of weeks....

the gods of Olympus...

I have been enjoying the Olympics. From the incredible opening ceremonies...(organizing the thousands that participated was mindboggling.) It was all so visually incredible.
The gymnastics, Yeah America! and I cannot imagine running for over 2 hours straight...unreal! And what about the amazing swimming...Yah...that was me, cheering at the television at 12:30 am...

How about that Michael Phelps...! I love when someone has a dream and makes it happen. I love the essence of the Olympics, and I despise the controversies...These athletes work relentlessly and I admire those with medals around their necks, and those without. There is still more to come...and I'll be watching...

...Sports can be painful.

a story unto its own...

So here it is...My daughter Becca has moved...After saving her pennies, she's bought her own place, and she and her two cats Oscar and Bella have moved with her...She graduated from college and then came back home to save up to purchase her own place. And that day has come...I have loved having her here...though she works everyday and has her own life, it was great having her around...and even though she has not gone far...it just won't be the same around the homestead not seeing her shiny face everyday.
I am so very proud of my girl...
and this...has sparked dreams...and out of my dreams, comes my art...a series in fact of 14 separate panels of art...soon to be published in a magazine...but just because it's been said and done...and it's my life right now...

Here's a few of them...

sigh...each panel a story unto its own...

veggies, chairs and calenders

I did some gardening today. Here are my flowering leeks...and my itsy bitsy corn. It's so cute...how can you tell when corn is ripe for picking?
My yellow tomatoes are yummy, we had them in our salad tonight.
I'm really proud of my potager garden, though real veggie growers are probably having a chuckle.

I am really into chairs right now...I don't know why...but I am.
I fell for this set of three chairs through the window of Merchant Voyage in Loveland, Colorado...and I plan to dress them up for seasonal occasions. Here is their summer look with seashells. I just love them...

This is a new 2009 calendar published by Amber Lotus. One of my collages "Mosaic Seasons" appears in it, though I'm not sure what month. I haven't seen it in person yet but it looks like a pretty cool calendar. I see they are available on Amazon if you are ready to accept another year is just around the corner.
